Enhance your labor experience by adding a variety of comfort measures and coping techniques to your birth toolbox. This one-night class introduces practical strategies to help manage both the physical and emotional aspects of labor, building confidence in your body, your partner, and your healthcare team.

Through discussion, demonstration, and hands-on practice, you’ll explore techniques that not only support labor and birth but also benefit parenting and everyday life. Led by experienced Registered Nurses, this session is designed to complement our Childbirth Preparation Series or serve as a refresher for parents with previous birth experience.

Topics include:

  • Breathing, relaxation, and attention-focusing techniques
  • Guided imagery, visualization, and vocalization for labor
  • Positioning strategies for labor and birth
  • Basic massage techniques for comfort and relaxation
  • Using heat, cold, and pressure for pain relief
  • Incorporating a birth ball, peanut ball, and rebozo
  • Hydrotherapy and water’s role in labor
  • Techniques for managing back labor
  • Introduction to mindfulness skills
