Alert

12/1/21: Mayo Clinic’s Perinatal Education Program is still here for you providing education and support during this unprecedented time with in-person classes, virtual-interactive live classroom offerings on Zoom, and four online eClass options. We are taking every precaution to ensure that the health and safety of our class participants and educators remain a top priority. Safety measures are in place for in-person classes that include reduced class sizes, room arrangement that supports safe distancing, health screening of participants, and a requirement for everyone to wear a mask throughout the duration of class.

Family Birth Center Tour

The Family Birth Center tour is for expectant families who wish to learn more about Mayo Clinic’s Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby, and Neonatal Intensive Care Units. We encourage you to take a pre-birth tour approximately four to six weeks before your due date to help you feel more prepared for your baby’s arrival.

You may view our video tour without leaving your home. This is a great way to see where to come in on the big day, view the OB triage area, a labor and delivery suite, a postpartum room, as well as family waiting spaces. Information is provided on pre and postnatal education, medicated and non-medicated pain management options, comfort measures and tools to be used while in labor, lactation services, and security measures that are in place for you and your baby while you’re in the hospital.

If you’d like to join a Family Birth Center tour class, you will have a unique opportunity to start preparing for your birth experience with other families in a live, interactive zoom session led by a RN Childbirth Educator. We’d like to help you become familiar with our facility, the labor and delivery process, and the quality of care we provide at Mayo Clinic, while having your personal questions answered. We’re excited to share in this journey with you.

Note: Video tours are already included in our prenatal 4-week and weekend series.

All registered participants will receive a confirmation email within one hour after registering (be sure to check your e-mail junk folder if you don't see the e-mail in your inbox).
