Family Birth Center Tour
The Family Birth Center tour is for expectant families who wish to learn more about Mayo Clinic’s Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby, and Neonatal Intensive Care Units. We encourage you to take a pre-birth tour approximately four to six weeks before your due date to help you feel more prepared for your baby’s arrival.
You may view our video tour without leaving your home. This is a great way to see where to come in on the big day, view the OB triage area, a labor and delivery suite, a postpartum room, as well as family waiting spaces. Information is provided on pre and postnatal education, medicated and non-medicated pain management options, comfort measures and tools to be used while in labor, lactation services, and security measures that are in place for you and your baby while you’re in the hospital.

Both our Family Birth Center virtual and in-person tour classes provide a unique opportunity to start preparing for your birth experience with other families in a live in-person or interactive zoom session led by a RN Childbirth Educator.
No matter which option you choose, we’d like to help you become familiar with our facility, the labor and delivery process, and the quality of care we provide at Mayo Clinic, while having your personal questions answered. We’re excited to share in this journey with you.
Note: At this time, we cannot support children attending in-person tours and in-person tours are limited to a max of two adults per registration.
Note: Video tours are already included in our prenatal 4-week and weekend series.
